NTT Com is continually working to deliver new products and services that can help enterprises gain a competitive advantage by helping them reduce network complexity and transform virtualization. The company just announced that, during the first six months of 2013, it also expanded its network capacity and opened new data centers in key geographies, including England, Virginia and California.
The main evidence of NTT Com’s commitment to innovation is a first of its kind SDN-Enabled Enterprise Cloud that the company launched globally in February 2013. NTT Com thus became the first provider to employ SDN in its global network.
The company says that since launching Enterprise Cloud, it has added new clients and “seen strong interest from global enterprises who regard Enterprise Cloud as a flexible extension of their own data centers, enabling them to connect existing private networks to the cloud and gain additional cost-optimized and secure compute capacity.”
Last month NTT Com also introduced the world’s first SDN-based cloud migration service which will initially be available in Japan only. NTT Com plans to make the service available globally in the future. According to the company, “the service facilitates smooth transitions to the cloud by connecting customer on-premises systems with NTT Com’s Enterprise Cloud via the same LAN IP address segment using SDN technology.”
Additionally, in the first half of 2013 NTT Com invested heavily to further augment its global data center services. NTT Com moves and stores data securely across its vast global infrastructure of more than 140 data centers, providing flexible, real-time access to bandwidth to streamline cost and support the growth of its global enterprises customers.
